IT Consultingfor technology change that has to go right

Sunrise Digital Labs is an IT consultancy. We help organizations through consequential changes to infrastructure, cloud, identity, security, integrations and modern systems.

Platforms we work in

  • Microsoft 365
  • Google Workspace
  • Exchange
  • SharePoint
  • OneDrive
  • Teams
  • Azure

What brought you here?

Most migration projects begin with a business change. The technology work follows.

Each starting point sets a different sequence for identities, data, domains, applications and users. If the route is still unclear, start with a readiness assessment and document the estate before a cutover date is set.

What moves with the mailbox.

Everything connected to it determines the migration plan.

  • Identity

    Users · MFA · Conditional Access · single sign-on · guest accounts

  • Messaging

Mailboxes · aliases · distribution groups · shared mailboxes · mail flow

  • Collaboration

Teams · SharePoint · OneDrive · permissions · external sharing

  • Applications

OAuth applications · enterprise applications · service accounts · Power Platform

  • Domains

MX · SPF · DKIM · DMARC · DNS dependencies

  • Business dependencies

    Calendars · workflows · integrations · retention · compliance

We discover those dependencies before migration day — not during it — while they can still shape the plan, the pilot, the migration waves, the cutover procedure, and the rollback position.

How we control the risk.

The same sequence every time, because the failure modes are predictable once you have seen enough of them.

  1. Discover

Inventory tenants, users, workloads, applications, identities, configurations and dependencies.

  2. Design

Define the target architecture, migration waves, coexistence needs, cutover strategy and rollback plans.

  3. Prepare

Resolve blockers, and configure identities, domains, security, tooling and target environments.

  4. Migrate

Run pilots and controlled production waves under defined cutover procedures.

  5. Validate

Verify data, permissions, mail flow, applications, identities, collaboration workloads and user access.

  6. Stabilize

Resolve migration exceptions and post-cutover issues, complete legacy cleanup, and confirm the environment operates as designed.

  7. Support

Address what the first weeks reveal, and transfer knowledge to the people who will run the environment.

  8. Handoff

Document what changed, how the environment works and what has to be maintained, and confirm that the old environment is no longer required.

This is not the first one.

Complex migration is a small field. What makes it survivable is having done it before — enough times to know what breaks, and in what order.

A multi-entity, multi-tenant Microsoft 365 consolidation is in delivery now. Client names, seat counts and tenant counts stay confidential while the engagement runs. What we can show instead is the method — the sequence, the documents produced at each stage, and the decisions that determine whether a cutover holds.

Read how a consolidation actually runs

Some migrations aren’t really migrations. They’re integrations.

The technical work supports two organizations that have to operate as one, on a date somebody already promised.

Mergers & Acquisitions

Multiple companies becoming one environment, usually against a deadline set in the deal terms.

Divestitures

Users, data and systems leaving a shared tenant. A separation has different identity, ownership and retention decisions from a merge.

Tenant Consolidation

Duplicate identities, domains and Microsoft 365 environments accumulated over years, resolved into one tenant.

Cross-platform Migration

Moving Google Workspace, GoDaddy-provisioned Microsoft 365, legacy mail or other systems into Microsoft 365.

The migration is often the beginning.

Once the environment is consolidated, we can work on the security, governance, recovery and infrastructure priorities that follow. These are areas we are hired to work in on their own terms, not migration side-effects.

Copilot Readiness

Data governance, permissions and security readiness before a rollout, not after it.

Cloud & Infrastructure

Azure, Active Directory, DNS, cost optimization, and the infrastructure an acquisition brought with it.

Bring us in on your client's migration.

You keep the client and the relationship. We deliver the migration under your name and return documented work your team can operate.

Regional MSPs and IT providers bring us into projects they would rather not staff.

Fractional CIOs and technology advisers use us to deliver a plan they can stand behind.

Microsoft partners specialized elsewhere — Dynamics, Azure, security — hand over the tenant work.

M&A advisers, corporate development teams and private-equity operating partners engage us before close, so the integration is scoped rather than discovered.

Transaction services and IT due-diligence teams pass on the findings that need migration planning or delivery.

Discuss your project.

If you are consolidating tenants, moving from Google Workspace, standardizing after an acquisition, or checking whether an internal or vendor plan is realistic, we can help establish the scope before anyone commits to a date.
